Longer runs are so much fun. Back in 09' I ran out at the salt flats in my fox. It was a bast.
Edit: Take your Marauder!!!

Man. If I had a built motor and trans (for insurance). I'd be all over this.

This looks BA. I may have to go there to watch seeing as I almost had a heart attack reading the entry price to race for a day
I was thinking in my head "Look at those dumbasses standing on the edge of the track taking pics!" And then I remembered us at Charlotte Motor Speedway, doing the exact same thing.

wondering how many runs you would get? This would be a blast, I've seen these before many 911 TTs, Corvettes, Lambo's, Shelby 500s, Ford GTs and even a Turbo Supra here and there

^^^I was reading and they said they were hoping about 15 runs per person IIRC

Just pull a few degrees of timing to be safe and let it rip. you will likely just go to the top of 3rd. For 195$ that is insane cheap for the thrill. If that was close to me I would be taking 2 cars. Haha.

Time for my Magnum T-56 project? Hmmm. If I could just get this 4r70 to blow up... 8 years of pounding the squat out of it something's GOT to give!
About the 3rd gear comment Vortec, Joe has 4.10's and I know with my 4.30's I am in OD before the first 1/4! My set up could never handle a 1/2. 😔

how would you handle the high revs, accelerate to 100 or so with OD off, then turn it on or would you have to start with OD on?

I have four trips down the 1320 now locked in OD. My gearing runs out probably around 1200 feet??? at 6500 (with smaller DR's) What sucks is, so far no issue. 😉

Careful what you wish for, after all the beatings on my car the trans finally blew and as bullet proof as it supposedly is I still don't know why the OD light was blinking after the rebuild. I still think it was high heat but hasn't gone on since the first week, is it cooler temps outside or what. Not sure. At Gingerman I ended up turning OD back on as I was hitting 120+ on the straight away and with 4.10s I was revving pretty high.
