My award today.

I was presented a nice award today and a check for 250 bucks for something I invented for work. (I posted about it months ago.) My company already gave me a thousand bucks and an award awhile back, but today it was from the Virginia Ship Repair Association. For some reason, our Safety Department submitted it to VSRA and it won the 3rd Quarter Award. So, now it goes up against whatever won for 1st, 2nd, and whatever wins fourth quarter, for the yearly award. I have no idea what the award is for yearly winners. It was neat, bunch of dudes in suits, women in dresses, nice meal. Good times!

I told a couple folks on here about this last night, but today I went to another luncheon/award ceremony for my invention. It turns out I won for the year, I beat the other 3 quarterly submissions and was declared the Virginia Ship Repair Association Annual Safety Suggestion Winner for the year 2012. I had told Amy if there was a check this time, she could have it. So I got another certificate, Amy got a check for 5 hundo. Shoulda kept my mouth shut, lol.

Not too shabby, now to put it on the ol' resume. :beer:

I'm not sure, but I've been working with InventHelp on an idea for a while now. Totally different, nothing to do with ship repair on this idea. And I can't make it, it isn't made out of metal. Which sux, because welding and fabrication are my thing.
