PART ONE

I had friends in the 1st Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) when I was a Lieutenant. Used to hang with some of their LTs at the time. In fact, the 6 sabers at my wedding came from the Old Guard and required special permission to leave Arlington and go off post to Maryland so that my honor guard had "the real deal" for my new bride and I to walk under. Must have worked .... 37 years and counting. :D
