I went to PSI Speed Solution's Dyno Day today. I was 3 pulls for $40. I found out last minute and decided to run both cars. They use a Mustang dyno and I was told that their numbers are normally 3-4% lower than anybody else.

first up was my DD Trilogy, it's the base Trilogy package with a K&N intake and Kooks headers. I sort of felt like I got kicked in the nuts when I saw the numbers.

Then I put my vortech on, when it was tuned by Injected Engineering in GA the numbers were: rwhp=413.80 rwtq=391.64. The car has forged internals with 8.5:1 compression and is only running 9 lbs. of boost. Here is how it did today, How is it possible that the HP & TQ numbers are like opposite now?

I don't know, trilogy's website says their kit base kit rear wheel power should be:

Total Power (HP) / RPM
390 @ 6100
Torque (ft-lb) / RPM
360 @ 4970

add 4% to my numbers and I'm close

Ever since I got the Trilogy's rear fixed under warranty at the dealer the car feels slower, I think new tune is needed. but I didn't think it was that far off.

350 isn't 390.

You need a tune. Have someone follow you with their windows open and romp on it for a sec. See if they can smell a lot of fuel in the exhaust.
As for the Pony with the V, did you have a new engine in it when it was dynoed originally? The torque is nice, but, the hp max is 385 @ 4,668. Obviously it drops after that. May need a retune on the pony. Maybe a new smaller pulley for the Vortech. :D

The beaity of a Mustang Dyno is the operator can set it up to do anything, 1/4 mile run, etc.
It is also the downside, name a figure you want, 1,200TQ and like Sgt Mac u got it. Conversely. DynoJet 240 there is nothing an operator can do except SAE or Standard.
Throw that Mustang Dyno reading in the garbage.

Putting an S/C on a car and not having it run on a Dyno is just plain DUMB!

Looks like correction factor is at zero too for both. That'll make them read higher. This is why I do all my own tuning on the dyno. I get all my Dynojet files and have my datalogs. Not to mention it's just plain fun. ;)

Agreed, I bought the car with the trilogy, the car was in sad shape from sitting so long and I fixed tons on it already. I had a feeling it needed to be tuned when I bought it. I just wanted to see where it stood. Now I know for sure that the previous owner didn't do it and I'll have to get it done.

What would the correction factor do?

The reason why the vortech car only made 385rwhp is because they only spun it to 4600 rpms. That car would have made around 430-450 if they spun it untill 6500.

That would make sense, the operator told me he had trouble keeping it in 3rd gear, i told him to shut off the OD, but I get the feeling he didn't.

If the operator had problems running the Dyno he is incompetent. Stay away from him and his shop. He should not have charged you if he was not able to operate his Dyno correctly.

8.5 CR, pump gas and 9 lbs boost 413RWHP SAE DynoJet is right on the money.
