The car's owner — famed auto customizer George Barris, of Los Angeles — transformed a one-of-a-kind 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car into a sleek crime-fighting machine. On the show, it boasted lasers and a Batphone and could lay down smoke screens and oil slicks.

Call me boring but I'd have rather have had the concept Lincoln...

I agree I would like the 55 Lincoln.
Rex would look so cute in it.. I will chip in $15.00.

I don't really know, I'm also curious what happened to the Bat boat, I actually thought that was pretty cool.

The bat copter was kind of stupid, especially since it came with Burt Ward and a giant stuffed animal shark

Someone is reproducing the Batmobile. They had a prototype at Charlotte Autofair in September. Only $160,000.
I kind of like Speed Racer's Mach 5. Someone is making those on C-5 Vette chassis.

One of them is in a museum in Gatlinburg Tennessee. There were actually a number of cool Hollywood cars
The Bandit
Back to the Future
1989 Batman
Couple of Bond cars
The General Lee
Camaro from Charlie's Angel

Also Ben Jones from Dukes of Hazzard has a restaurant out there with a
General Lee
Cooters pickup
Roscoes cop car
Daisys Jeep and her Challenger

Someone brought a replica batmobile out to the local car meet a couple of years ago. I snapped a pic, but apparently deleted it at some point because I can't find it. :mad2: The guy went to incredible lengths to make it faithful, even had a fully customized interior with all the fake gadgetry. I wondered at the time if it was one of the on-set cars that somehow this person had acquired. I only saw it once or twice out there though. :depress:

I think the one for the first movie was a T/A 6.6Litre, but the second movie had the 4.9 Turbo motor. The third movie (as if it deserves mention) had a third-gen T/A dressed up like a Bandit kind of, and it probably had one of those *****y 305 or 350 engines from the early 80's.

We saw one of the three remaining operational turbine cars in St. Louis during MV6, and Pops actually got to take a ride in it!

Was kinda weird, you could hear it coming from around the side the museum building, engine was just screaming (around 19K RPM), sounded like it should have been going 120 mph, but when it rounded the corner, it was doing more like 25...:coolman:

MT did articles back around 1979/1980 on the Chrysler & this http://www.corvettereport.com/worlds-only-turbine-powered-corvette/#more-1059 Corvette. Been lusting after both cars since. Lottery win would cure the issue... :D

I remember those turbine cars too. I thought they were the hottest thing. There are so many 60s and early 70s cars I'd love to own. My best friend had a 72 AAR Cuda with a balanced & blue printed engine, with all the toys. 6 pack carbs. Legit 200mph car. Won his class every week at the local 1/8 mile track. Plus it would get like 20mpg on the highway! Too cool. :beatnik:

WOW...I remember seeing the turbine car on Main Street in Houston when I was a lot younger...I thought it was very cool and I took a pic of it and will hunt around to see if I can find it someplace.
