Pulled it out of my rear tire yesterday. 4,500 miles on the tire, I pluged it, and took it to have it patched from the inside --- but they won't do it since it is close to the outside edge,( about 3/4 " from outside edge) saying that the patch won't hold.
So, new tire - or keep the plugged one and watch the air pressure??

If it were me, I would just run it. Just be cautious about high speed operation.
What size is the free allen wrench? My set is missing one.

Haven't been in Macon for a while, so unless you lost it in Florida ---
Kind of beat up the wrench, di drive it with it in there before I saw it.
I am going to keep the tire with the plug, and watch it for a while.

PAPAJOHN - I would replace the tire. It is better to be safe than sorry. The price of a tire is less than $100.00.

Whose Allen Wrench?, and why should we free him?
Replace the tire, less worry when you have the family in the car on the E-way.

Thanks for the advice --- I am going to replace the tire -- for those reasons given, and also, it is losing air.
But, having a hard time finding the tire for $ 100. Best I found is $159

Check Tire Rack. The link on the site's homepage will take you there and get a donation for the site. Should be around $90.

I would change the tire, as a patch will viod out the speed rating, may fail, etc. Check with the people you bought the tire from, as often you have road hazzard insurance on tires. If you declined this option, usually about two bucks a tire, I hope you've learned your lesson. :shake: No flame intended

Wow, the cheap tires went away fast! Last year when I got a set they were $88 and $94 for front and rear (don't recall which was what price). Check ebay, I've seen some new sets of four front size at $350 buy it now. Occasionally you'll see some pairs of the rear size too for about $175.

Anyone know the answer? My dealer didn't even suggest that it would be covered -- but then they don't know ( or tell ) everything.

Road hazard is not included on factory tires or any others unless you purchase it. Costco and BJays include road hazard in the price of their tires. I don't know if the can order tires for the Marauder. I will check next time I go.

Check with the local BF GoodRich dealer in your area.
Dealers usally do not handle tire problems.
