Jet fuel pumped into cars at 3 NJ gas stations
HAMILTON, N.J. (AP) - Officials say aviation fuel was pumped into cars after it was mistakenly delivered to three New Jersey gas stations.
Authorities closed a station in Lawrence, and two in Hamilton after the error was discovered.
Mercer County spokeswoman Julie Willmot tells The Times of Trenton ( http://bit.ly/YWcquW) the stations will remain closed until all underground storage tanks, lines and filters are emptied and cleaned.
State officials are investigating how the mistake happened.
Several cars stalled on Friday when a gas station in Keyport and one in Manasquan unknowingly pumped jet fuel into their tanks.

Jet fuel is like 12 bucks a gallon. Theres also a way to split it up but I have no clue how so im sure somewhere somebody is willing. Not for 2 gallons but if I got almost a full tank

Jet fuel/kerosene/diesel fuel are all very similar. Nothing like avgas or gasoline, hopefully all here avoided this.

Easy peasy, as long as you have something like this in your back yard...

A few of the gas stations are not far from where I live, good news I never use any of 'em:) I read that story this morning in the local paper and thought WOW that will screw the engine. I hope no one NJ got some in their marauder.

It would be the same problem and the guy you know is full of crap!
Fractional distalation and reblending the components that yopu separate back into the two products is beyond the DIY level for anyone!

HMm then I guess he lied. I have no personal experience with it and I cant stand diesel or diesel vehicles so I wouldnt really know. I have no clue how you would even begin to do it I was just going by what I was told. I should have thought about it a little more because I know with refrigerant its impossible to seperate on your own so you just remove it all from the system.
