I think my BCM crapped out on me last night. I get just a trickle of heat coming out on any setting (vent/floor/defrost). When I adjust the fan speed back n forth from highest setting/next to highest I can hear a slight 'click', but nothing happens. I've tried tapping the BCM under the hood (black box with orange/white label) and didn't do anything.

Give me a call or shoot me a PM as soon as you can. I tried calling you today but get a busy signal.

Thanks....

Did you do the EATC self test?

You're talking about the black module on the firewall correct?

I had this happen to me not too long ago. I removed it, which is a pain, took it apart, seen a bad solder, and simply reheated the solder with a soldering iron...works like new. I could tell the bad solder joint from a charred mark around it. There is a post from another member on here I believe it has been stickied.

Yep...I read it and several other threads to help me determine if the problem was the BCM, blend door, or something with the EATC...soooo glad those threads were stickied, especially the BCM. Without the knowledge shared on this website, I would have been at the mercy of taking it to the dealership and getting billed for who knows how much.

I talked with FBM earlier this evening and he's gonna send me a BCM he's fixed.

THANKS TO EVERYONE...THIS SITE IS THE BEST!

Yep...almost directly behind the cam cover and to the right of a pair of hoses going into the firewall...

Got the new BCM from FBM on Saturday (15th). Monday was rainy (much like today) so didn't get a chance to dork around. Tuesday I tried DIY, but simply don't have the right tools needed to do the job.

So, went to local shop I use, explained the situation and made an appt for this afternoon. Jumped in car after they finished and fan/blower was working...charged me $20 for the labor.

Thanks FBM and everyone else for their posts about our BCMs....I can't imagine how much $$$ you guys have saved me! Now, if only I could do some of this stuff myself...

Jim, I'm going to mail you my old BCM, unless we can get together right after New Year's....lemme know...
