Im trying to get my gears ordered to rebuild my rearend. But the site does not accept paypal payments :mad2:, only by card. I have funds in my paypal I WILL TRANSFER THE ORDER PRICE TO YOUR PAYPAL right away if you would order my part for me right now. Its $139.00 even.
Will someone be as kind to do this for me? My car goes on the lift saturday and it'll take too long for my funds to transfer over to my card (3 days)
thanks

I did, thanks but now I'm confused.
I ordered a 4.10 but I just read on another thread I don't need a tune to run a 4.30 ...far as I knew a tune was needed to correct the shift points to prevent transmission fusion and cure the speedo being off. It also maximize the performance of the new gears. Or am I wrong?
Car has a Zach tune now. I have my own XCal as well. Car will be running a 245/60 rear tire

Well I went to school for this stuff and I was taught by an ex toyota employee that would simply test vehicles that they came up with and would play with tunes. for about 6 weeksHe told us that no matter what you change you need a tune. He said that without adjust the numbers the car wont know what you did. I would definitely get a tune and I would most certainly make sure my speedo was accurate.I think the tune automatically adjusts for that because then the computer will know whats going on. The tire size I believe is also run with the tune but im not sure because im not too familiar with handheld tuners.

As I thought the same. I have some experience under the hood. And almost every one I've known and post I've read has the same knowledge: "Get a tune"
Which I have. I also know I can adjust the tire size in the xcal and the tire revs. The tune should handle all the other numbers to get full performance out of the gear.

Yea id tune it for sure. I dont have experience with tuners other than computer programs thatadjust the spark and fuel. I literally know how to create the tune for the xcal cause ive tuned a 2004 mustang gt that ended up in an increase of like 65hp or something on a stock car. I just dont know how to use the handheld stuff. Definitely tune and id also let it work I to the tune before you beat on it.

That's another thing that some people disagree on. Lol
Some say "gears don't need a break in, get in it and drive it like you stole it"
Some say "do a proper break in"

Dude - I'll help you out. PM me the details.
Make sure that you know what gears your want (4.10 vs 4.30).
I'm a complete rookie at this but I think that you should also get a tune (Lidio, MartyO).

Well heres my argument to that. When you put new brake pads on your car dont you smell the materials burning at first? Dont you smell horrible brake dust and it needs to mate to its new surface right ? You cant smell gears warming up because the rear is sealed. Take it easy on the car because maybe something isnt tight enough or has too much clearance. Never know. Everyone makes many mistakes so always be easy on something new.

I got a neighbor to do it. No one here chimed in till 4 almost 5 hours later so I figured no one wanted to help. Thanks though. I appreciate the fact you would've helped. I went with 4.10s due to the fact I have a tune already.

I was going to baby it for about 100 miles before I rip on it. Th car sits now so that 100 will take me forever to do unless I get out and drive it just to put the miles on it

Yea id say 100 should be good. Maybe once a day at least take it around the block. I would t let it sit for too long I mean thats just my personal opinion.

Maybe after the 4.10s I will be eager to drive it more. I love the car but right now my motor cycle is my choice of ride. I purchased from MGMSleeper as well. Lol I bought up all his stuff
