Car made it to the shop today and got the rearend pulled apart. The left side where the seal was leaking needs a new axle where the bearing chewed up.

Everything else seems to be good to go.


So does anyone have a left side axle?

If not can someone give me the info to locating another (part #, what year to look for etc..)
There is a place here locally that takes in ford parts that should have one if not then I will search the web

Found a few LH axles for the marauder $87 & up NEW.

If anyone has one cheaper let me know please. If not I'd go with what I found

to be sure/clear i can only find the same axle that fits our cars in...

03+ crown vics, MGM & Lincon (?) ...or are there earlier years that will work?

I've seen some that say "Axle Shaft LH (ABS 28splines)" and some that just say "Axle Shaft - Rear Left -" should i be looking for ome that say "ABS" ????

I have an 04 but 28 spline cane from the factory. I'm not boosted so as of now I'm good with 28 mechanic said my axles are fine all Over its just where the bearing was kinda damaged the axle so It would be good to just replace the left one to keep form having a future issue.

Everyone says upgrade to 31 but right now I'm doing what money allows

Need one with the ABS rings. If you have it apart did you consider putting in 31 spline axles from Ford? You have to spend the money anyway might as well do both and put 31's in.

Look on the internet -tousley Ford I believe-and see if the local Ford dealer will match their price. Good Luck

I considered the 31s but the issue in itself put a damper on me. Christmas for the little one and wife is on the same plate. Then I'd have to buy a 31 spline carrier ...extra money. I'd love to upgrade but as of now I can't unless I don't get certain things for my family. So sticking with 28 is my route

In the description it says (28 spin) so I suppose that's meant for 28 spline.

Yes, if you get the one in the pic it will work.

Or pick one up from a mm.net member. With everyone that has done 31 spline conversion, someone has an OEM laying around for you.

Yes it'll be perfect if I can find from a member for free or a decent price shipped express or one i can pick up so i dont have to wait again for shipping. My other parts get to the shop on or before the 19th. The rear is apart and gets cleaned Monday. So I should be driving Thursday or Friday IF I dont have to wait for an axle to be shipped

New axle came in. 4.10s are in and all at the shop.

Seen the axle it was missing a chunk and the bearing was in 3 pieces.
Car should be done tomorrow I'd the install kit gets in early enough or if my mechanic has a kit in the shop.
