Hi All!
I just wanted to take a second to tell everyone about an event I am partaking in this summer with my mother. I am so excited to be embarking on this journey with her. We have both always wanted to walk in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure 60 mile 3 day walk... Well we have signed up and are on our way to raising the funds necessary to walk in August 2013.
We are both walking for my grandmother who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. We watched her fight hard and overcome the nasty disease. Unfortunately, she died from colon cancer almost 4 years ago, so we are walking in her memory. We know that she would be quite proud of us, and if she can go through many weeks of chemotherapy, radiation, and the pain of the disease, we can surely walk 60 miles while raising money for a great cause. The walk is three days long. Each day we will walk about 20 miles, resting at night at a base camp that is in my city. We are both very excited.
My mother and I have to raise $2,300 a piece for the Susan G Komen foundation. If anyone would like to make a donation, it would be much appreciated! Donations are tax deductible for the 2012 tax year through December 31. Any help would make me very happy.
Every dollar counts for the fundraising efforts!
