What if there never was an 03-04 Marauder. What do you think you would have bought instead?
I would have bought another 05-06 GTO.

Hmmm, I'd say I would either have a G8 GXP or C5. Love the power and handling of the GTO's...the styling, not so much.

Found my MM purely by accident, was a fall back vehicle from the p/u I badly wanted but could not justify buying.
Most likely a Mark8 or Northstar Lucerne if I had to guess.

Probably would have held out for a Charger R/T or SRT8 as they were the only rear wheel drive vehicle that appealed to me.

Finally, some props! Can I get a whut whut?
If the Marauder had never existed, I would most likely still be driving my 01 Jetta VR6....however, based on how many miles I put on my MM since I bought it (~43k), the Jetta would have approx 175k on it. Don't know IF I would still be driving it and have no clue what I would've gotten to replace it based on my situation. When I bought my MM, I knew at that time it would mostly likely be the one and ONLY chance I would have to get one. Thank God Marauderman is old and slow :P or I would have never gotten one!
If no Marauder, then also no MM.net, and no 'villes, Carlisle, NH, KY, BOC, or TK in Suwanee, no $8, no over 9,000, no 2 straws--1 drink, etc, etc....:bigcry:

Looked at one, while looking for Marauders. Drove one Was quite surprising....
The Infiniti M45, which had a style only offered in the US for 2 years, 2003 & 2004. The M45 was equipped with a 340 HP, 333lbs torque. 4.5L DOHC V8. 0-to-60-mph time of 6.4 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 14.8 seconds at 95.5 miles per hour. 11.4-inch front/11.5-inch rear vented disc brakes with 4-channel ABS. Only 7000 units sold in US.

I was reading a review of this car and one statement struck me as funny, Road Test Editor Brian Moody says: I knew as soon as I saw the M45 that many would complain about the styling. Well I, for one, love the M45's blocky bold and squarish look — especially in black. A few people complained that the M45 looks like a Mercury Marauder (http://www.edmunds.com/mercury/marauder/); well, that car looks cool, too....
....The main difference is that the M45 has the muscle to back up its broad-shouldered, brawny look.

the bird????? or the car????? :)LOL
LOL.
I had the option of a BMW 5 Series, then when I crashed the Marauder a 2003 M3 that was sitting in a dealer for two years with zero miles. I decided to fix the Marauder because I knew parts were cheaper, plus I really didn't want to hang with the Import crowd. Now I prefer the Import crowd and bringing the Marauder strikes up a lot of conversations. It's great. I cannot get enough of this car.

A newer Crown Vic P71, Lincoln Town Car Signature L w/ livery pkg. in black, 2004-06 Pontiac GTO 6 spd., 2002-03 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson Edition Crew Cab, or an Excursion Powerstroke Diesel. If I had a garage, I would include some classic muscle cars as well.:burnout:

2, G8 or GXP
3, 300 C-392

Remembering that this would have been late 02 and 03. There would not have been an 04.
So the Ford F-150 would have been my first choice. No sedans.

I test drove a Merc S500 with 90,000 miles on it. Beautiful car.
The Marauder was same price with only 25,000 miles and the Marauder was me. The Mercedes S500 was too Lux (too many useless options) and a older woman was test driving it next.
Easy decision.
Love the Marauder.

My local Ford dealer had 8 leftover 03 Cobra convertibles when I bought my Marauder in Jan 04. Likely would've been one of those, but if not, it would've been a Dodge Magnum.

At the time, there was nothing else of interest to me, at least comparable to this from size/platform standard. I did buy a 2004 Mach 1, which I still have, and have always like the 03-04 T-Birds, but didn't want another automatic.
Funny, 03-04 really was a watershed year for Ford with some of the these vehicles..too bad they didn't sell better. :(
