Yep - over 140 of them!
Heck of a job getting it refinished.

Too much thinner in the paint when the car assembled. Paint bubbles up as it separates from the surface. Last summer, I had my whole roof stripped and repainted for $700.

2 spots on the hood so far.

Last summer my paint was flawless, this summer the little FOMOCO quality control gremlin hit me with the hood spots. Hoping it doesn't spread too far! :mad2:

My 03 with 28k had three huge rust spots. I had to fight with 3 different dealerships to finally get it painted.

I think this is a problem with all Marauders. I've got them everywhere. I keep a paint stick handy..

My car is barely driven, and the spots came up about 2 years ago. It looks like bird **** all over and a couple have blistered and showing rust underneath. I will be having the entire roof stripped and resprayed as soon as I find storage for the car. No more sitting outside after this.

Welcome to the 'Rauder Rust Review! Mine started about 4 years ago, on the roof, near the driver's side C pillar. Two dealerships, after bitching to Ford, repaired the damage. Both shops are noted around here for their excellent rust repairs, and they couldn't fix this one. As Ford noted - it's just a bad piece of steel. In other words, the heat treatment did not reach that part of the cold-rolled steel roll at the mill. I was the lucky one who got his roof punched with that untreated piece in it. The only way to cure it is to cut it out and weld in a new one. Of course, with the car long out of warranty, Ford basically sent me packing. In truth, I'm not sure that cutting in a piece of metal would have looked too much better than the rust spots.

Not just marauders, my `04 Grand Marquis had bubbles on the hood, trunk and roof. Then a tree fell on it last year. New paint...:)

Add me to that list as well. I bought the car in October and haven't driven it much but just noticed a bunch of rust spots popping up all over the roof. Expecting to find more all over the car from what I've read here. Didn't plan on spending more money on the car but it has to be done.

No spots on any of my MM's. I paid $2.00 extra for the no rust or bubble paint. Worth it. Sorry you are having trouble with yours.
