Oh yea, I got a dog also. A 3 month old Australian Shepherd named Paris that I get to pick up after work tomorrow. They say don't give dogs as Christmas gifts but we already have two Aussies from the same breeder so she knows that we'll give her a good home. When she was less than 8 weeks old, she cut her head open on a snow plow blade and the family that was going to get her decided not to because of the injury. I don't really know what prompted my dad to get a third dog. At least this one is a different color pattern than the other two. She is a Blue Merle instead of the Red Tri color pattern which both of my other dogs are.

Well I finally got to open my presents after work and going to moms house for a bit.

At moms I got a Best Buy gift card, pie, cookies and a remote controlled helicopter and a Dallas Cowboys Stocking....cool.

At home from Rosa and the kids:

Socks and underwear.....bottle of colonge, a 61 pc. gun cleaning kit, one of those blankets with sleeves, 2 sets of slippers, popcorn cups (plastic) with popcorn packets, and my favorite, a stainless steel 4 burner gas grill with a side burner and bottle opener!! Wonderful Christmas for me.

Oh yeah, and Rosa and I bought ourselves a 12 gun dial safe.....I like that too....and just got about $100.00 in ammo for the 9mm and both shot guns.

My wife got me tickets for the Fleetwood Mac concert here in Houston next June. Made my decision for me about whether or not to try to be a long-hauler on the Power Tour. I'm gonna go for part of it but will have to be back in Houston by June 5.

Actually, it is two books given to me by my oldest son. One is "Grandpa ... His stories. His words." and the other is "My Dad ... His stories. His words."

Over the coming weeks and months, I am supposed to write in these books and tell all about myself. Each page has questions or an "assignment" to tell about a certain part of my life. What I remember, my schools, my friends, my jobs, etc. At the end, I get to give these books back to my son and grandson sort of like a historical record for their memories.

This is really a Great Idea .... it'll sorta be like my "Memories of ....." threads after MM.Net events only focused on my life to date.

But I don't think that I am gonna tell the "Everything". There's just some stuff that they Don't Have a Need to Know. ;)

Actually, the gift of books to fill in your life is great.

My grandfather used to tell us stories of life in the "old country" or "the other side" as he often called it. I have many of his stories on tape from when I was a teenager. We used these tapes to create a family history.

Fill those books with your life stories...... so people can still speak your name, long after your gone.
