There is much ahead in planning the event, including contracts with venues and the hotel, etc.. So much more info to come, but please give Chris, Mike and Brad the time to work through all the details. We are all very excited about visiting ATL!!!

Yup. ^^^^^
Take it from one who knows, the preliminary stuff gets lined up for bid submission, but none of the actual contracts can get signed until after the event is actually awarded, and like my old Uncle Heinrich used to say, "Die detail sind tuefel." ;)
Another thing to consider, in years past, the MV announcement often wasn't made until late January - early February, so we're actually a couple months ahead of the curve this year, which is great!

There ^^^^^^ I fixed it for you. The Devil is Always in the Details. :D
Yeah, but it would be nice to have at least some teaser information on some of the events/things being considered. Its a "Marketing" kinda thing. I understand that details are still being worked and formal contracts are being finalized. However, a proposal was submitted and I am pretty sure that it contained some level of information on the kinds of events being proposed.
I don't see why some of that couldn't be put forward at this time while all of the final details are being worked. JMHO.

In the original post that Doomie started, you stated the September dates weren't good for you, not on ignore at all Charlie, we will be thrilled to have you in Atlanta if everything works out.
I've been out of pocket since its been announced, Chris Mike and I will convene after the Holidays to work teasers.
A minor one for now, check out my Avatar
I'll be signing the Hotel contract when I get back to Atlanta next week and will have booking info shortly after.
I can tell you lots of good eats, and some people with suggestions in the various threads have managed to guess a couple of the events

Save the date, the dates are set. Details will follow, but it's not like there is a bad Marauderville
Folks there is lots of work to be done to finalize our plans. These things take time and we want to make sure we nail down every detail to maximize everyone's experience.
If it were up to us, we would release everything now, so much of this is dependent on the response of contacts we work with, and just coming out of the holiday season, many people have been on vacation.
What I can promise is this
1) ample opportunity to go WOT
2) our car show will be at the Tilted Kilt. While they aren't allowed to do a car wash, I have been promised the cream of the crop for girls
3) it's the south, we will fill your tummies with lots of yummies
4) hotel is nice, I'm waiting for the contract to be sent, but our rate is $99 for standard $109 for a suite, enough suites available that 30 people can get suites
5) outlet mall across the street from the Hotel, great car washes within 5 miles, and for those that care, lifetime fitness across the street
6) liquor stores 3.5 miles away
7) fast food- McDonald's, Chick Fil A, Wendy's within 1.5 miles
8) Tilted Kilt, Arena Tavern within 2 miles
9) 3 waffle Houses within 3 miles
10) I haven't even hit the good stuff
Be patient my friends, so much of this is dependent on people responding to us, negotiating contracts, finalizing revenue impact for venues and working through guarantees
What I can promise you is a weekend among good friends and a rib eating, tire burning, beer slamming, boob crashing good time
If that's not enough to save the date 9 months out, I don't know what is

Again I will ask for patience. This was awarded over the holidays, as such most of the committee and the venues we do business with were also out of the office.
We don't want to put an agenda out, only to find out we can't finalize things there and move to a plan B.
A premature agenda that changes will only cause more confusion.
We are 9 months out and we promise we will dedicate every effort to make this a good time for all that attend.
An agenda will come once we have signed all the contracts and can confirm those venues.
We appreciate the input from everyone but ask you to respect the process. These things take time and we don't want to put information out that isn't concrete.
We promise details will be available months ahead of time so people can make plans, until then we ask that you be patient

Bluerauder..... You know what really would be nice? Is if you quit trying to direct traffic and prioritize for folks here...... You have been involved in an MV and you have been to a bunch of others... They all have different challenges/flavors and indiginous obsticles to deal with in the end make them unique and worth attending.......Or not.
Newer folks have curiosity I can appreciate and understand. You have been around long enough to know how things work. Take a step back and let things happen organically... The last thing Chris, Brad and I want is folks coming down with an expectation for an event, that we don't meet.
