So a few things have happened the last three months.....

As some of you may know, I bought a new to me 2007 Suburban 4X4 LT back on Sept. 22nd.

Since then it has been in the shop 6 times!! Thank goodness for the warranty that I purchased.

I had some issues first of all with 2 of the tires, they kept loosing air and one of the TPM sensors kept failing....so it was in the shop 2 times just for that.....they found I had a screw in one tire and a nail in another tire and the sensor was bad....it took some talking but they replaced the sensor on their dime, nothing done with the tires.

I also had a clunk sound when going from a stop and it was in the shop twice before they figured out it was a bad motor mount. They wanted to charge me $700.00 to replace that....but again after some talking they replaced it on their dime.....

Then about that time my oil light came on....they said it may have been that the oil was not topped off when they did the oil change so it was topped off....2 weeks later the oil light came on again and again it went to the shop.....found out it had a rear main seale leak as well as a leak on the front diff. That came out to about $1,425.00 but my warranty took take of all but my $100.00 ded.

Then, not even 5 days later, while out Christmas shopping, I was accelerating to get on the highway and "POP" goes the trans, engine revved and it didnt go anywhere.....had it towed to the shop once again and the trans took a permament vacation with an internal failure....lost D,3,&2. All I had was 1 to make it into a parking lot. That bill came out to $2,711.00 and the warranty paid for all but $100.00 and I got a Remanufactured trans with a 3 year 100K warranty.

Now the warranty has more than paid for itself in the first 3 months of ownership, so I am very glad I got the warranty....and maybe by the time the warranty is up I will have a practically new truck!

So I figured, WTH....I went and bought some new wheels and tires for it....as I needed the tires anyway, I figured I would at least get some wheels that I like.....so I got some 20" Chrome Chevy wheels off craigs list and went straight to discount tire to get them installed.....all said and done I spent about $1,600.00 cash for the new wheels and tires with warranty and some nice Goodyear Eagle LS2's.

Then I got the FLU.....that was bad....missed 3 days of work and slept thru the new year.

But Christmas was good and I already got my Bday gift from Rosa.....she got me the Viper 5704 2-way paging remote start alarm with the big screen key fob for the truck....now all I have to do is get my wheel locks today!

Wow .... bad luck with the Suburban. Gotta be a lemon or something cause ...

I bought my 04 Crew Z71 Sierra (5.3) 5 years ago with 50K miles. My issues to date:

battery died - 6 year old battery
water pump at (120K),
front brakes (152K). Last set was put in at 50K.
Rear brakes at (100K)
Rear axle got bent .. might have caused that with 2500 lbs of rock in the back of the truck.

Love the truck, it runs like no tomorrow, and does not leak or burn anything. Gets me 15-16 in commute and almost 18 on the highway at 72mph.

The truck is routinely in 4wd, tows a 10k trailer at least once a month plus other trailers, hauls everything I have thrown in it. I do it maintenance per the schedule (oil every 5K, and the fluid flushes as required)

Currently it is at 153K and we are taking it to South Dakota in June.

Well,

With all that has happened that definately crossed my mind about it being a lemmon.....time will tell, but as long as I have the warranty all is good, it even comes with a free rental. Right now I am just chalking it up to experience or bad karma because maybe the other suburban wasnt ready to go and is getting me back for trading it in. lol

Even with everything, I still love the new truck.

Yup. GM trucks are still junk. That's why mine sits in storage with a bad tranny and transfer case. 17 years later and they still have the same engineers.
