A dear friend of ours, Marge Coates from Middleton, WI, has suffered with a degenerative liver ailment for the past 5 or 6 years. Due to age and other health issues, she's not been a top-tier candidate on the transplant list, and she, her husband, along with us, had resigned ourselves to the fact that she'd probably not get a transplant, and would continue declining until passing away. (Actually, that's one of the reasons we detoured up through WI last year en-route to MV10, we fully expected it would be that last time we saw her alive.)
However, Marge and her husband Bob were informed last evening of a donor match, and Marge underwent liver transplant surgery around 11:00 p.m. last night. Prognosis so far is very encouraging, and obviously, with any transplant surgery other issues can arise, but we're all praying for her full recovery. Will you please keep Marge in your prayers?
