From what I have read, this is an exploit that affects Java 7 update 10.xx
There have been known security flaws with this ver. in the past.
If you are running any previous versions of Java, ie. Java 6 update 20, as MERCMAN is, you should be fine.

What will disabling Java do to your files or programs on your computer? Will every thing still work? I have Java 6 not Java 6 update 20, will I be o.k?
