Most likely it's the blend door. Sounds like its stuck in the heat position. Try running the EATC self test.

Could also be the EATC o-rings or vacuum leak.

No, you have to unbolt the entire dash and move it out of the way. The part is around $75.00. Labor is about 4 - 6 hours.

You can check the blend door for operation if you remove the radio and look at the top right corner, You should be able to see the blend door actuator. Try the controls and see if it moves.

Thanks again---sounds like with labor it is going to cost me a few$$$$$. I don't have a garage to do any work myself, soooo, guess I have to "pay the piper", I appreciate your quick reply !

Once again fast black merc, just read the second part of your reply about removing the radio, will try that also & see if the blend door is working !

EATC self test:

Interior temperature needs to be between 40 & 90 degrees
With the car running, press the OFF & FLOOR buttons at the same thime.
Press the AUTOMATIC button within 2 seconds.
The display will show a pulse tracer going around the center of the window.
The test can run as ling as 30 seconds.
Record any DTC shown (Diagnostic Trouble Code)

If you get an 025 or 025 or both the blend door is bad.

Sometimes running the self test will get the system working correctly.

Post what you get.

I just finished running that eatc self test----but nothing happened --- nothing showed up on the display, I ran it several times, so I'm guessin' the blend door is not working.

Did the tracer run around the screen?

Try pushing the OFF & FLOOR at the same time, release them and press AUTOMATIC within 2 seconds of releasing OFF & FLOOR.
