I am new to this platform................. and Ill tell you I love it. However, I am a bit of a stereo person and I dont see much being done in these cars. Even in the Crown Vic's? My last few cars where a little off the wall big 3000 watts with a couple of 12's in a big ported box but my DBP is going to be simple. Am I just not able to find the build logs or topics about aftermarket equipment or is it just not done? I am not talking about head units/radio's I am talking component speakers, rear fill, subwoofers, amplifiers, wiring, trunk mounted battery, etc. I saw the thread where the guy did all his speakers and 3 Rockford Amps and a couple of 12's. VERY helpful pictures and info. Anybody else? Thanks fellas!

Mine is very simple,
I have 2 12" Orion subs in a standard box and a 350 watt bolt amp. No other speakers and running off the OEM head unit. Nothing too interesting but it had nice boom....have had that combo for at least 11 years with no issues ( I had the set up in my Taurus before the Marauder).

This is old, the front stage is basically the same with different drivers, but the back end is completely different now. I'll have to post some new pics of the trunk.

I've got MB quart 5.25 components up front, factory rear speakers and a 600 watt 4-ch Apline amp with front channels powering the components and the rear channels bridge to run a single sealed 12" sub in the trunk. Clean, Loud and Cheap.
I haven't dynamatted my trunk yet as I am waiting to install my spoiler first, whenever I end up doing that.

Yep, same situation here. I mostly go for the IIIs, IVs, Vs and VIs since they first came out when I was in junior high and high school. Back then, I got 2 pairs of shoes a year and they weren't Jordans. Now I can have all my favorites and rock them whenever I want. I go for a lot of other stuff too like the Barkleys, Flight 89s, Bo Jackson trainers

So anyway, LOL. Back on topic. Sully thanks for the link I like the front stage. I got my RCA's and speaker wire today. Just waiting on my door speaker adapters then I can get going on this.
System will start out pretty basic for now. Will add sub/subs later.
Kenwood DDX-419
Rockford Fosgate T2 6.5" components up front
Rockford Fosgate Punch 5.25" rear fill speakers
Factory sub (for now)
Rockford Fosgate Power T600-4 amplifier running interior sound
KnuKonceptz 1/0 power wire
Stinger RCA's, etc
I am thinking about two 8" subs up on the rear shelf or a single 10". The ultimate goal is to possible port the enclosure up through the rear deck through the factory sub opening with an aeroport but I am open to suggestions. Thanks for the replies. :)

Sounds like a pretty solid plan. Are you planning on putting the 6.5" components in the doors? Porting through the rear deck is a pretty good idea too. Here's a couple of pics of the new trunk design. I ditched the old pair of Xtant amps (which were very heavy) with a single Hertz 5 channel amp. It's running the whole system. The amp rack is motorized to tilt down from below the rear deck.

Yes Componets in the doors. Tweeters are aimed towards the center in the little triangle plastic trim pieces on the doors where the side mirrors mount. I am not super happy about where the speaker location is on these cars but hey........... I didnt design it! :)

Thanks for the reply. I got ALL the wires ran today including front and rear speaker wire runs. I got the passenger side component set installed and wired up. (Some modification required for the 6.5" drivers). I think it will be worth the time I have spent so far. I hope to have the amp wired and installed tomorrow evening. I am going to make a quick amp rack for the passenger side of the trunk for now. Still have not decided or designed the sub/sub amp part yet but at least I will have some power inside for a while :)

I got everything in tonight (late) and wired up. Holy crap I am impressed with the front Rockford Fosgate T2 6.5" Components!!! The Rockford Fosgate Power T600-4 amplifier isnt tuned in yet, but its close. It is still set up to my old Alpine CD player in my old car but both head units are 4 Volt pre-outs. Fine tuning soon.........
Now its time to focus on the subwoofers/sub amp.

Big 3 upgrade on mine running my original battery still LOL. I still run a Pioneer AVIC D1 head unit, upgraded all my speakers to some Pioneers, better over stock. Used to have a kinetik 2000 battery for a while with a hifonics brutus 1600 and 2 12" alpine type Rs in a ported box. Thought this was too heavy so I built a custom box to go over the fuel tank in the trunk for 2 10's. It sounded meh..so I removed it all and went with a sealed box and a 10" Type R.
I didn't like the extra weight of all that in the trunk, would rather have the gas mileage and extra pick up if someone wants to go at it on the street.

I'm running Infinity Reference components in the front and their 2 ways in the rear.
Gives the car an excellent sound for the buck. I would really like to get a real sub in the back but I've got other priorities and it doesn't really sound that bad.
The best part about these cars is the speaker placement. Middle of the door keeps the sound more crisp. I have these exact speakers in our 03' Cobra and it doesn't have near the clarity.

I did a very mild set up in mine to keep the trunk with plenty of space. I have a ton of pictures of the install on my cardomain page. The link is in my signature block if you want to check it out.
I havent updated the cardomain page in a long time:o but last year I also did the big 3 upgrade with 0ga.

Yes, and good luck finding anything aftermarket for the Panther platform:
The front stage consists of a pair of 6.5" speakers in the kick panels, and a pair of HLCDs (horn loaded compression drivers) mounted underneath the dash. The kicks were built using fiberglass, MDF and covered in factory matching carpet with matching grilles. The grilles for the HLCDs are also covered in matching grille cloth.

They sound pretty good after some tuning. Actually these horn bodies are 18 years old from a defunct company called Crystal Sound, with a set of pro audio compression drivers on top. The magnets are about 10lbs each, lol! Great clarity and realism.

It's all about how you want it to sound, I have never had a ported box because I prefer sq over spl. I would do 4 8's or two 10's.

The best bass I've ever heard was in my friend's '94 Dodge Intrepid. He had 4 JL Audio 8IB4s running infinite baffle. Tight and responsive, would play down to 20hz, and hit 130db when fully cranked. I'm currently running to JL10w1s (I know, old school subs) infinite baffle in the car. With that said, I'd go sealed.
