Zappa was ahead of his time, great musician, guitarist and very intellegent. If you havent seen it yet check out his debate on crossfire.

Heres a story my dad was telling me a few years back, one of the guys at his work used to play in zappas band before he made it big. Zappa had asked the guy if he wanted to go on tour across the country and the guy kind of laughed at zappa and told him no he cant quit his job to go on tour just to try and make it big....< i bet that guy contemplates eating a bullet every night

The crossfire debate was good. He always seemed to have a certain way of putting things. LOL

I have been a FZ fan for over 20 years, he was such an unbelieveable musician.
His guitar solos are among some of my favorites. He wrote an autobiography that I have read numerous times, if you haven't read it I recommend it to anyone who is a fan.

“Interviewer: 'So Frank, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?'

Frank Zappa: 'You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?”

Dude was brilliant in so many different ways. I love his late '70s stuff, because it was hilarious and musically in your face.

I think my favorite album is Sheik Yerbouti.

I was lucky enough to be turned onto Frank years ago.
one of my favorite lines is : Is that a real poncho or a Sears poncho ?
Use that one and you can tell right away if the other person is either

or :sleepy:

Many of my friends used to look at me funny when I'd tell them to "watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow". They had no idea where it came from and thought it was just me being weird.

And to think looking out my window, that thought came to me. :beatnik::cool4:

I remember in undergrad school in Austin, Texas...when a Zappa album came out...the ad caption was
"your father will HATE these mothers...your mother will HATE these mothers........
BUT YOU WILL LOVE THESE MOTHERS!"
very cool at the time
