This is great, two guys are working on an S-10 pickup and make their own hoodscoop while their at it.

Does anyone have a welder??

That's pretty nice work so far for a couple of shade tree body men.

THe final product is not bad. Reminds me of what hot rodders used to have to do before there were all these bolt on kits. Just think of how many '32 Fords have been pieced together from other cars\tricks\etc.

BUT...They said they were covering the carb due to a rain storm. Is the truck not inside a shed\shop? And those welds look horrible. :puke:

That's some decent work! If they never mentioned that the scoop came off of a lawn tractor, nobody would have been the wiser.

Well, I'll have to admit...not too shabby.

Looks like a great idea to me. I don't know a lot about welding, but that scoop looks better than the after market ones do. It looks like it has added a good three inches to the height of that hood. That might be enough for a small blower on a small V8 engine(like a 4.6 L on a Marauder).

Considering they are using a flux core wire feed welder - the welds aren't half bad! A real mig machine would make it a little easier for them. These guys deserve a lot of credit for what looks to be a pretty good steel hood scoop. I wish I had the nerve to try something like that on my Marauder. Maybe I should take a look at what's down a the junk yard?

I guess if worse comes to worse, you can always buy a new hood from the parts department at the dealer as a last resort. :D

It looks good .But i liked the thought of using them side by side on the hood as well.

Actually, I thought maybe a CV or GM hood off a late model wreck might be a good test platform - this way the original MM hood remains intact!
