The action is around the 7 and 12 minute mark.
Look at the lack of safety and how little traction some of the race cars got.
Crazy!

Dom you found a winner. The Allison was super.
13:58, it has 4 back tires and blazed them all the way down the track, WIN.
26:10, blower mounted sideways in front of the engine, WIN.
Cool vid, Dom!

Thanks for the vid, Dom!
I don't think that I've ever seen color footage of early drag races.

Dom you'd have loved running that hairy short wheel base digger with the Potvin front supercharged small block Chebby, those things were a real handful!
I dig that old Chrysler wagon, probably had the early hemi in it.

Looks like the left lane was hooking pretty good.....btw video camera lady was good looking
That was really cool...
Wonder why they uploaded it as 1958?? The meet was Sept 3-7 1959...
I was real suspicious after seeing a '60 Buick at 12:28 and later there is a poster at 16:08 with date...

The black 2 dr Buick? That was a 59,the 60 had rounded 'fins",the 59's had sharp edge fins all around.
You should see the chick with the camera now,80 something years old
By bad on the Bruick, was still '59 though...

I was in high school in the sixties and lived less than a two hour drive from three drag strips. The film brought back some great memories. Thanks Dom

I tried posting about it with the wicked weird zoomy style exhaust but something screwed up and I couldn't post.
