New to doing this but here goes. I want to install an Aeromotive 340 stealth pump but am confused as to how to wire it. Should I use the orignal wiring from the OEM pump or do some new wiring in heavier guage to help with pump amp load? Do I have to use the the FPDM to use this pump in a returnless fuel system or should I convert to a return style and wire with the recomended Aeromotive wiring kit? I am getting ready to add a supercharger (Vortech) and want to get the fuel pump and injectors done first.

Just plug it in with the stock wire in the tank. I believe it has the same connector. If you want you can upgrade the main power wire to the FPDM and then from the FPDM to just outside the fuel hat.

Nice to know Chris. Thanks! Mine is going in in a couple days.

I'll see if I can get a definate answer on the plug tonight. My tank is laying on the floor so should be able to pop it out and compare easily.

I recently discovered those pumps like a lot of juice. I have one in a return style setup and I picked up so much pressure in my application by just changing the wiring I turned my BAP off. 10 gauge wire is that pump's best friend.

How does this pump compare to the Ford GT one? I will be upgrading mine for my new engine build.

I installed it on my last upgrade and the plug wasn't the same
I cut the wires and used marine (go figure) heat shrink butt connectors
At 477 RWHP I see fuel pump load around 60% at WOT

I use 2 of them in my return style system with no BAP. Each pump will support up too 700 HP.

Thanks everybody, this is the kind of information I need to do this right. Going to do the S/C install after fuel system upgrade. Want to sort out everything on charger side with original engine, have a forged shortblock on standby if (when) the "big bang" happens.

If you want you can upgrade the main power wire to the FPDM and then from the FPDM to just outside the fuel hat.

That's what I did with mine, turned the BAP right down. I get fuel pressure spikes when coming off WOT, I think it's the stock fuel lines making the pump work harder than it has to.
The 340 puts out way more than the GT supercar pump.

If you are still returnless, the spikes are normal. The pump is pushing all that fuel into the lines and out your injectors and when you let off the pedal, it backs up for a sec. My fpdc is maxed, I'm picking up a 11142.

Get the racetronix kit and let it rip.

Mine has been in for a month or so with no issues. I did not increase wire size, but I did run -8 in the frame up the drivers side to the Russell fuel filter on the inner fender, then continued the -8 around the motor to the stock rail in preparation for return style.

Summit had all the fittings, and even the two quick release ones. Super easy.

Embarrassingly enough, I never even bothered to ask my tuner if I could just remove the BAP. I'm sure I have enough fuel at this point.

I use that pump as well.

I was getting the P0190 code as usual about once a month but after installing my #60 injectors I get the code at least once a day. I will modify the tune soon but just curious as to why it comes on so much more with the bigger injectors.

I went up to the 60's as well. Since the dyno a month ago, I have yet to get a code for it. I forgot to even tell him I always got the FRPS code monthly for years before.

Bob, my pump is arriving today, so, we know what I'm doing tomorrow and hopefully track Sunday if all goes well. You mentioned you didn't do the wiring upgrade. Do you know what you're running at for wot fpdc? Thanks.

Bill, I really want to say somewhere in the low 70's? I just can't remember for sure. I won't have it out till probably Sunday. BTW if you ever did a Walbro pump with harness, its plug and play. :)
