I'm a science nut, love all science stuff and when I came across this thought I would share. Pretty cool...
This is what happens when you run water through a 24hz sine wave.

Just a function of the end of the hose moving in a repeating pattern that makes the water look like it continues to spin or bend.

True, but the movement of the hose is so consistent that it really looks cool.

It's not just the movement of the hose, but that the video is being captured at 24 frames per second. You see a similar effect when watching car wheels spin quickly on camera: at certain speeds they appear to be perfectly still, or even rotating backwards in relation to the way the car is moving.
