The weather was nice and i had Slayer out for some time in the Sun. I stopped at the Gas station to fill 'er up and an older Gentleman (70's) at the next pump says "Nice car! I used to have one of those. I said you had a Marauder? He goes Yes! I look at him and think he really doesn't look like a car guy so I ask what year was yours? He says 1998. I go then you didn't have a Marauder. Oh I thought it was a Grand Marquis. I guess I have a sleeper.....;)

LMFAO!!!! thx needed that. i have a couple guys at the shop today i want to do that to. i just might steal that for my new saying around here. "you can't fix stupid" is getting old and they don't understand it anyway:mad2:

Last night at the Enmark station where I buy my smokes:

I get out of my car; gentleman coming out of store says,

Sittin on my porch after a LONG 12hr day at work...neighbor just walked by and said "been meaning to tell you I love that car!" Not all comments are bad:) thank god he didn't ask if it had a cop chip.

Not all are that clueless, however. A while back I stopped at the grocery store with the family in tow and a guy with an Impala SS asked if he could buy it. The wife was leaving the same grocery store when two young men sitting on a bench said "Look, that's a Mercury Marauder. Listen to the engine, you can tell it's different", She was impressed, sometimes I'm not sure even she remembers it's a special car. ;)

I had a lady come up to me at a car show last summer and say the same thing.

I told her it would get her to the jail faster than anything else she's ever ridden in! :D

Took mine to the Kayna(?) Swap Meet at the Kentucky Expo center and the guy you pay for parking asked, "Is the a Marauder!?!". Took me completely by surprise...

A young guy at Auto Zone asked me what's different about my Marquis the other day. I told him it has basically the Mustang Mach 1 engine, 18s, etc. .. he just gave me a blank look. Come to think of it, I get that look every time I answer a question about what a Marauder is
