View Full Version : Got another question about RPMs

So, now that I've had my CAI installed as well as having the TB and IAC cleaned out, I've noticed the following on RPMs:

On cold starts, initial 'rev' of RPMs is just above 2000; before CAI install/cleaning it was just under 2000. On warm starts, initial 'rev' is just below 2000; before CAI install/cleaning it was almost halfway between 1500 & 2000.

Just wondering if this is ok/normal....

Yes that's normal.The PCM will relearn and it should settle back down to where idle rpms are commanded. Cleaning a nasty IAC and installing the CAI will change it for a little bit.

Thanks for the input, guys. Kinda figured the increase in RPMs at start-up was due to having stuff cleaned and the CAI installed, but I try not to assume too much when it comes to my MM...
