Never fails. Every time I want to do a mod something minor pops up.

RPM lights 3k & above are out.

I believe I read FBM fixes this or sells a kit. PRICE?

Is this a good time to color swap if I want? The green is old school. I'm thinking of white & red lights for the interior

to change the color in the cluster NOT EASYYY bec there is green lining built into cluster and will need to be cut out but can be done

few members has done so if it wasent such a hastle to do so im sure aloit of us are tired of the green

i would reccommend just going to a led bulb to make the green have more pop

Time for an LED upgrade!

Changing the bulbs will NOT change the green color!

That green is a film that's on the plastic.

If you want to get rid of the green you will have to remove that film.

Changing the color can be done but it a PIA. I wouldn't do it.

I can supply white LEDs.

PM me.

I changed my gauge cluster from green to white and it is a PITA. I used 194 5K 5-LED SMD bulbs for DOOM's and my gauges.

I replaced DOOM's gauge lights with white LEDs and the green does stand out more.

My stock gauges

Here is DOOM's before

And after the leds were installed

That white is nice. But if its a PITA I won't do it. How hard is it to just LED upgrade

It's not hard at all, FBM sells the kits and could possible include instructions.

I've talked someone through it via PM before.

raven...gotta ask. How much of a PIA was it to remove the green film? I'd like to do this to mine, but would like to get an idea of what I'm up against...thanks.

The 194 bulbs are 1.95 at autozone.

Each gauge has to be disassembled, taking the needle off, separating the face from the gauge (you can't bend them since they are very thin), removing the green from the back of the face (the hardest part), then assembling, hoping you get the needles back on in the same positions since they are not keyed.

^This.

I took each gauge face off and sanded the green film off. I also removed the green from the shifter and made the orange gear indicator red.

The only issue I really had was getting the rpm needle set back correctly, it still reads 200 rpms less than actual rpms after 2000 rpms is reached.

It can be done without removing the needles but will just take longer. I completed mine in about an hour including removing the gauge cluster and re-install. Getting all the needles properly set took a few days of trial and error.
I have another gauge cluster that I will probably swap in cause the white is just too bright for me at night, I always have to dim it down since my eyes are extremely sensitive to light at night.

Thanks for the replies; might get into it when this semester is over. I have 3 weeks off between spring and summer semester, which I plan to use that time as round 2 of mods. Depends on how much $$$ I have after Looseville and the BOC...

What will you be doing with it?

Storing the white one. The other will stay green.

Lights came back on and have been working fine.... But I will still order from FBM just to have some if they decide to go out and stay out
