Id like to put a sub in my car, but not the bulky box. I think I saw a box someone had that sat up on the deck where the factory 8" sub is. Id love something like that. Can that be bought somewhere or was it custom made? I think id like to have 1 12" sub at the very least. Thanks in advance

Is that the Infinity Basslink? How's the sound? I was looking at these. I replaced my OE sub with a Kicker Shallow Mount 6.5" woofer. It's OK at best. It was only 65 bucks, worth a try, but I want something better.

It works and sound great.

The bass won't cause the fillings to fall out of your teeth but it's to my liking.

Thanks. I'm not looking for Earth shaking bass. Just a tad more depth.

Nicely done. I'll look at this option as well! It's been pushed to the back burner for now.

The tire was moved to the false floor and the OE sub was removed. This was three 8ohm 10's. I built all of it when I did car shows.

Is this your setup? Is it ported through the rear deck in the stock location? LMK, thanks!

My setup.

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u133/fastblackmerc/MM%20Mods/Basslink/BasslinkSparetire.jpg

I did one like Jim's and I did one using the MTX with a similar location/set up.

I liked 'em both but don't expect the bass of two ported 12 inch subs or anything like that.

I liked both of my set ups and would do them again.

I love this set up, it's very clean. I plan on doing a similar set up with 2 12's

Here a shot of what Rich put in the back of Lemonade. Hope he chimes in to explain what he did. There appears to be pre-amps that are not hooked up, but the Digit Design sub will change your heart rate when sitting in the MM with the volume turned to half way up.

there are two 550 watt amps one on each side of the trunk - one on the left is for inside the car and the one on the right is for the subs - the amps are cliif design

That's really nice. Minus the subs and amp how much would a custom job like this cost? I'd love to see this in person.

Six areas of special attention for my sound upgrade:

1) Alpine SPR-60C component speakers on my door, cutting out a space to place a tweeter (http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u543/mp-rdp/IMG_0515_zpsaccf55e8.jpg). Big, big improvement in sound.

2) Trunk lid and space rear of license plate coated with a Hushmat damping pad (http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u543/mp-rdp/IMG_0514_zps233f3e04.jpg). Trunk does not rattle (see sub setup (http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u543/mp-rdp/IMG_0511_zps7b3531c8.jpg)), and bass sound is rebounded back into the car.

3) Pioneer DEH-80PRS headunit (http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u543/mp-rdp/IMG_0516_zps09e0bc60.jpg) w/ 5.0 volt preamp output. No matter how high volume placed, no hiss or other distortion heard through speakers during silent periods (e.g. between tracks).

4) Metra Axxess ASWC-1 Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface; allows volume and track-change control from steering wheel.

5) XS Power S3400 battery (http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u543/mp-rdp/IMG_0518_zpsa76cf829.jpg). It's a premium over a standard battery, but lights don't flicker. Seven year warranty.

6. Small mic installed near rearview (http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u543/mp-rdp/IMG_0519_zps931e71c0.jpg) for hands-free bluetooth cell calls.

Specs for my baby ('04) (http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u543/mp-rdp/IMG_0517_zps06ba09b7.jpg):

Door speakers: Alpine SPR 60C Type R Component
Rears: Kicker KS-69
