Went with a buddy this afternoon...

Ford/Lincoln/Mercury
Ford GT = even better in person (Billy, I was picturing you in the seat, buddy)
Ford 500/Mercury Montego = MUCH better in person...this is a VERY well-done car in my mind, pics don't do them justice. Makes the old Taurus look like a Neon.
Mustang GT = would like to have seen in another color (it was burgandy) but, I LOVE the lines of this car
Lincoln MKX= furgetaboutit
Lincon Aviator (Concept) = unbelievably nice...Marty's next SUV
Marauder = DTR with light flint...in the back, getting no attention

General Motors
Buick = are they still in business? what a snooze
Chevy
C6 Corvette = what's all the fuss about...I didn't see that much difference between the '04s next to it
SS R = what a joke
SS Concept = I know, 2nd year it's been shown, but this is a COOL looking car
Caddy XLR = nice package if you ask me
Caddy CTS = looks better in person, serious contender to Euro-trash sedans IMHO
Porsche Carrera GT = un:censor:believable!!!
Audi = same 'ol, same 'ol that A8L looks like the ultimate 4-door Luxo barge, just everything I've read pans it
VW Toureg & Phaeton = is ANYBODY going to spend $60K-$70K for a VW??!!

Best in Show (for me)...
Maybach 57, words can not describe the level of craftsmanship in this vehicle

Just some thoughts....

I just happen to work on the doors for these cars today at work. They are fine tunnning them for launch, and what I have seen of the sheet metal for these cars they are built like a tank. The Marauder has a 5 star crash rating, well they are going to have to put a 10 star crash rating on them. Built extremely safe and rigid. Just hope they sell.

Are they making those here? (Atlanta)

I tell ya...if the American public doesn't buy those cars for nice, day-to-day transport...they're crazy.

They will be made at Chicago Assemby only. Atlanta Assembly will continue to make the Taurus/Sable line sometime up to 2006, then things get hazy for them. Ford hasn't decided what will happen to Atlanta. My guess is to close the plant and sell the land to the airport that has been itching for it for years. There are no parts suppliers close enough so they would save on shipping costs. We are making 100% of the sheet metal for the 500/Montego/Freestyle line and parts can be shipped in less than an hour by truck, instead of the usual 2 week round trip by rail.

OK since I'm working in Norcross the next 2 days, I gotta go see this baby. Been itching for a GT40 replica for 20 years, now I could get a new one with all the bells and whistles! Just maybe, if they produce it for 3 years, I can get the house paid off, MM almost paid off, enough time to talk the wife into it, $$$, ...

I leaned WAAAAY over (actually the way they have it set up, you're right on top of it) and a rather large guy with a Tazor gun said "Can I help you, sir?"

Unfortunately...I mentioned your name...he just warned me that Bill Ford was tired of your stalking emails asking for the "E-Z Plan" to purchase the GT...I was almost escorted out the door.:(

....I don't care if old Billy is tired of my e-mails or not.......I'm gonna try to find out where he lives to ask him in person!!! Surely that will work.......
