Start wrenching and take the head in to get checked. Did it overheat?

Man congrats on 314k. Have you had any previous engine issues?

Well I just finished my drivers side head and I won't lie, it takes awhile to do. Of course, my car is a Trilogy car so everything takes awhile..

Don't even bother replacing just the gasket, get the head checked out and I highly recommend the Ford Racing 4V timing set. Not cheap, but at your mileage I wouldn't even consider the job without doing it. You need to remove all of it anyways.

Other than that I suggest purchasing an AlldataDIY.com account for your car. It's very cheap and will give you all the info you would ever need to rebuild the whole car.

The only critical tools really needed would be a decent torque wrench, and a puller for the balancer, both of those you may be able to rent at your local auto part stores. All the rest is common sockets/wrenches.

I want to know how your in Greenville and we have never met??

Also, it may just be cheaper to put a long block in it.
