So I just went and had 31 spline axles installed, cobra diff and ford cobra diff cover at Deans Performance. I also had him set up a hurst line loc and decided to try it out.
Left a patch about the length of a louisville burnout in Dean's lot and the owner says to me -
"looks like the line loc is working great and I guess you were not to worried about breaking in the new gears"
I totally forgot about having the brand new gears in! I was just so excited to play with my new line loc toy! :P
I then proceeded to tell him - "Well, if the new gears were going to break I am glad I was here doing it!"
My dad and Hans both broke out laughing as I sat their with the "Doh" look on my face.
Hans then looked at my dad and said how he hopes we have a discount tire supplier as it looks like I will be needing it soon. My dad looks at him and says -" Yep - that's how my son does it"!
What a great day!

I will try and get a couple of pics up this weekend on the line loc routing. I have traction control and abs so it is run a little differently then the early 03's.
Also if anyone needs a set of 28 spline axles let me know. I will sell my set for $100 plus shipping. They are in good shape and have only 30,000 miles on them.
Can't wait to see it man!

Here's a question. What torque converter are you using

The way it was explained to me was that with a roots style blower you really dont need to change the factory torque converter on the MM's.
The reason is your power is on tap immediately and you dont want to spin your tires more then necessary when you launch.
Now when you go to a vortech, procharger, turbo, etc. that is when the car will benefit with a higher stall torque converter. These power adders normally dont kick in until the car gets going a little bit so you can get away with a higher stall torque converter to get your car going.
I would bet that your silver probably has a 3500 or 3800 torque converter in it.
Remember for every tenth you gain on your 60'ft time it is worth almost 2/10ths at the top end of the track.
