Let's hope Disney will let ol' JJ work his magis on Star Wars as he has done on Star Trek...

Didn't know you were a trekkie, Rex. You gonna be home the weekend it comes out?

I just bought the original series on DVD 3 months ago...have watched 'em all 3 times now...

Agreed. Unless you like whales (not me especially).

Whales wasn't bad... but Khan and Undiscovered (Love Chris Plummer) are about the only ones I'll watch without forcing me of the original crew that is. The last next Gen was pretty good, but they were done by then.

Leonard Nimoy's sense of humor was great in it!

Saw ST:ID last night. WOW! It was awesome! Lots of "easter egg" throw back remarks for us longtime fans, but it did not detract from the story. Very well done. And the new crew is very believeable in these classic roles. They picked up very well from where the last move left off. It would be cool to see it jump to the small screen for a full series!

Yup, a couple minor things that veteran Trekkies would dispute (i.e. Christopher Pike's demise, Spock "senior's" comments about Kahn [he was an Ambassador, not a "field guy", so doubtful they would have crossed paths]), but other than that, definitely good stuff and an excellent story line.

Big +1 on the characters. The Bones, Scotty, and of course, Spock characters are outstanding in their roles. Gota say, Bones is my favorite with his grouchy demenor and drawl.

Loved the music during the closing credits, definitely brought me back to the day.

Special effects were awesome!
