Oops! Just followed a yellow 2013 bumblebee, errr, I mean Super Bee onto the highway. Temp plates on her and the driver wound her out. Hmmmm, not so super! :D I don't think the driver was too happy, not for $42k and being... Slow's a good word!

I remember when I test drove a Daytona Ram truck with the big wing on the back. Even for a truck it was sooo slow. All show and no go...

Yeah, a lot of hype on the Mopar offerings. Even w/the big (bigger than ford) displacement they don't appear to be as fast as they should.

That's no true Hemi!!! If it was it would be eating everything for lunch. Even in the truck classes...

Maybe it's deturned from the factory to meet EPA requirements. After the SCT flashers (or whatever MOPAR calls them) get revved up the car may be a decent performer. Just saying.

I know someone that bought a challenger srt8 a few years ago and IIRC for the first 100 or maybe 500 miles the the computer detunes the engine to allow for break in. Maybe the super bee does the same?

Sheesh! What's with the ibtl? :D NO where does it say anyone raced! If you want to infer anything, that's your, the reader's, conclusion. Carry on!

Exactly!!!!

This has nothing to do with street racing!

There should be no IBTL!

Nor should this Thread get nuked!

Why is that?? We have a 300C and the deactivation is seamless and we've never noticed it at all......stock exhaust!!

Our 2007 Aspen with the Hemi cylinder deactivation works flawless and is not noticeable what so ever.

I would buy a new Charger RT or SRT. I wouldn't trade the marauder for it though.

I will just add at this point having owned both my stock 05 truck seemed quicker than my stock 04 MM (to my dismay). Im sure my Challenger isnt as quick as a new Mustang GT or even a new Camaro SS but I dont really care, its plenty quick, has a ton of room inside (like my MM) and people stare at it at every light (really).

Guys, have any of you driven an STR8 anything? My buddy just sold his '08 300C SRT8 and it's not what I would call slow, whatsoever. Torquier than most newer fast cars, and anything that's running 12.9-13.1 bone stock is not a turd. The newer stuff is even faster

And what did a bone stock Marauder run from the factory ??? And whats done to your car ??

RacerX

Hehe! Far from stock! The problem is, when you drive a 600hp (crank) car, anything less seems slow. A stock, older year Viper seems average now. ;) Even more ponies coming my way soon.

Bingo. I take pride in my old beater that was put together by ME. But I wouldn't ever brag about mine against anything stock, not even a Lambo, it wouldn't be a fair comparison. BUT if said person knew about my slow boat and wanted a taste against his factory "race car" fair game..

Every car can be made faster, better, stronger. Unfortunately Mercury only provided the strong part. Mostly.

I think the best I ever got stock was like 15.1 or 15.7 or something silly. Yup, I lost interest in racing really quick back then. To even think about modding and getting into the 14's? Not even worth effort, 13's a big maybe, but why bother when anything new that comes out can hit that! Mid 11's to Low 12's is the new fast street car. Anything less, go home, or be handed your ass every 10th car that rolls up on you, or more.

Meh, just cruising, mine would never be viewed as anything close to stock, the way i like it. i can't stand having idiots wanting to run at every light. Gets really OLD. But then again, how many of these others are stock? That's the question.

SRT8s have a lot of user errors.

Show me a car that doesn't.. at least they're automatics for the most part. Lots of really bad drivers out there in Mustangs and Camaros that think their car runs what the magazine says even though it's their non-driving ass on the shifter :cool4:

Two weeks ago when I ran my car there was a 2010 Challenger SRT8 at the track, consist 12.50 12.80 runs.....not exactly slow! By the way, it was stock.

How about this, the Super Bee still had the dealer price tag stuck to the window. I KNOW that was around 42k. Mine was 6k and about 4k more in add ons including SC. I'm winning even if I were slower. I suppose if you were to get a launch in an F22 Raptor, everything else on the planet would seem slow.

Not saying the newer ones are slow because I don't know...but I just expected more from a truck that was done up in the theme of the old Chargers etc... A friend at work Father, had a factory macked out Camaro. Can't remember exactly but he said it was a rare engined optioned(not the SS, but had @600+hp from factory) car he bought abought 5 years ago and he traded it for the new Mustang saying the Stang was all around better. I'm of the impression(my opinion) and correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe even if the Stang doesn't have more hp etc, Ford has all the other things set up in this car right I.E. gears etc...in order for it to either compete or stomp in compitition.
