My first car was a 1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88. UGLY car. More ugly on this car than a Rolling Stones group photo. And it was a huge car; it had an optional roof rack/helicopter pad. Fill it up with gas, back out of the driveway, fill it up again.

In 1963, one of the most interesting cars I have ever had the opportunity to drive was a 1962 Olds Super 88 2 dr hardtop with a 3 speed column shift. (This was in the days of the 4sp GM automatics.) Very rare vehicle.

I had a job driving cars from a used car lot in north Jersey to Auburn, NY (256 miles). (Dealer was relocating his lot, and paying me $15 per day to drive a car was cheaper than renting a car hauler.)

Get the car the night before, get up at dawn, drive to Auburn, catch a bus back, and hope the bus driver would let me out on a highway in NJ rather than make me go to NY/Manhatten and take another bus back to Jersey.

That car was an amazing car to drive. Fast, smooth, but a b***h to speed shift.

yeah it was, i really loved the tu tone paint, the color was dark maple leaf maroon metalic. originally was a 305 chevy w/ (if i remember right) a t-10. I put a mild build 350 in it, the car had 3:50 rear gears, it went prety good!
