Can look up tomorrow but there was a cool one year I think special edition GMQ around 04 or so that had a hood ornament that went into the grille, was the Merc waterfall design all metal. Had one a few years ago and Ebayed it, wish I still had...not to put on marauder lol just to have

I love hood ornaments, but even I know on some/many cars, especially newer ones they don't look good. Like when the GMQ had them AND the grill ornament(as did the TownCar)...no. Not to say, that if someone came up with a really good looking Gods Head ornament, I'd buy it. Then think about putting it on. Plus, do you know the wind drag I would get. I mean, come on, it's a DTR. We need all the help we can get...

A one off would not be cheap. And there would be like a bazillion questions. Like cast, machined from solid, what material, who's doing design (cad data) ?? and that's just the start.
And I would have to make two just so you wouldn't have the only one :lol:

Check my info under my posts. I have had at least 3 different hood ornaments on my Marauder since about 30 days after purchase in April '03. Pictures are posted except for the latest, a replacement for broken 3rd one. I wasn 't able to bring up the posts tonite but will keep trying. I have never owned a car without an ornament in my life--all of my GMs had them--many home-made, as the Marauder ones are. I'm an old P-51 Mustang pilot and have to have a cross-hair hood ornament so I can lock on to pedestrians ;). I am surprised that no one who was in Louisville noticed it. It is made up of a Lincoln ornament and one of the steering wheel center 'god's head' plastic center . I have replaced or covered every easily visible 'waterfall' emblem on the car----I hate it. I'll try to get pics posted--haven't figured out how to do a direct pic from my iPhone5--any help appreciated. I guess I'm just an old coot who won't accept change:D Maury

Oh so you had the hood ornament. I did notice it when we parked on the first outing to Lexington (Alltech Brewery & Distillery). I was wondering who's Marauder it was.

Hood ornament may not be my cup of tea, but it's your ride and I respect your decision. I love the fact there is an actual "function" for it as well!
