I'd say the 1969 through 71 Dodge Polara/Plymouth Furys/Ford Galaxies/Customs police cars were my favorite with the big block engines. Followed by the bluesmobile 1974 Dodge Monaco and the Dukes of hazard late 70s Monacos/Grand Fury. And Chevy had a big late sixties/early seventies four door with a 454 engine 390 horsepower also but was too heavy to compete with the likes of the Polara.

Would have been neat if the FHP Marauders made this list.

I remember seeing the FHP cars several years ago.

Lol, please - the Caprice "Bath Tub" ? ? ?

That car was one of the reasons that the Crown Vic was one of the most successful fleet vehicles of all time :)

Don't like the comment on the Vic, but a REAL good cops n robbers movie is Dirty Mary Crazy Larry!!!! It's got that infamous yellow 69 Charger which finally goes up against I believe a 69 Polara...at speed...sweet!!!

I always thought these 71-72 Furys with the 440s were pretty cool.

Those cars are pretty sweet looking. The 440 with the 6 pack is one of the best sounding motors ever made IMO

Interesting article too!

You can't have a cool cop car article without mentioning the Crown Vic. That thing still owns the roads and demands authority when its parked on the shoulders with wheels turned and when it pulls up behind you!
