A friend of mine shared this on Facebook. Two Capuchin monkeys given unequal "pay" for performing the same task. Watch what happens.

While the results are slightly comical, this also proves that monkeys understand a sense of fairness. The presenter also explains that the same outcome has been shown in dogs and other animals. Maybe our non human counterparts are smarter than we used to think?

Caging Monkeys is as close to caging humans as you could get.

When they tried this experiment with the caged humans, they spent all their time tattooing each other and playing with themselves, refused to work and got the grapes anyway on a court order.

I was wondering if monkeys have the sibling rivalry and the middle monkey syndrome too?? Hmm....

If they were using humans the human who got the grapes would soon realize they were inherently superior to the other cucumber human and demand half of their cucumbers as well as all the grapes.

Jaywish that is under the obama plan. Give the grapes to the monkeys that don't work.

That's what having to pay higher taxes looks like in human studies.....:D

The lesson is that the monkey that traded his rocks in on cucumbers stopped trying, and never handed over rocks another day in his life, yet still demanded only the finest grapes and cucumbers for doing nothing, while the other monkey worked harder and harder handing over rocks and was constantly berated and insulted by the other monkey for not working hard enough and paying his fair share.

Oh but what is most amazing is the chimp that exerts his immense influence over his hundreds or even thousands of inferior beings to the extent that some of his underlings will do his bidding.

Truly impressive.

That is unfortunately the most common basic form of Human governance. Once they have followers then the trouble starts.

You're surely referring to Obama kool-aid drinkers.

Why you don't live in Cuba or North Korea truly astounds me.
