One of my winter projects was to start installing components to improve the handling of my 68 LTD. This is the 7th car I've done similar things to, each time 'raising the bar' some. These 700 lb/in offer a firm ride, not harsh. minus 1" ride height. OEM is approx 275 lb/in. These springs, new Monroe Synsatrak(??) gas shocks, and urethane end bushings on the wimpy stock sway bar is all I've done for now. Handling is much improved, and once I complete the other items, should be very nice. Current tires are 70 series BFG Control TA's. More next winter.
If anyone is planning to install firmer springs on their old buggie, and you don't want to much degradation of ride quality, maybe go with 550-600 lb/in.
