View Full Version : Carlisle Showfield Stickers

Have you put your Carlisle Stickers on your car yet? If not ... why ?? Driver's side windshield, top corner.

You will need them to get in the Gate when you arrive. Its best to plan ahead and be ready so you can just drive on through gate to our location "on the hill" in the Blue Showfield area. You will be directed toward the right area based on the color of your window sticker (Blue). Keep heading to the high ground and you'll see us on "Marauder Mountain". :D

Don't forget your Carlisle letter that came with the stickers. You will need that to pick up your Goodie Bag, dash plaque, and Carlisle voting ballots. Put it over your visor today so that you know "exactly" where it is.

I've got my checklist at the ready; some things I'll do this evening, the rest I'll do tomorrow evening before I go to bed. Plan on hitting the road NLT 8:30am Friday...

We also only cut off the corners of the sticker's backing and apply it to the windshield. Makes it a lot easier to remove afterward, instead of the whole sticky area.

We did that last year and when we got to the gate the official guy standing there looked closely at our sticker, removed it, peeled off ALL the backing and slapped it back on....crooked, while we sat there holding up the line.:mad2:

I guess you did not do it right and you do it before you get to the gate, like a block or two away.

Oh man I would be furious if the official did that to my car! I can't stand stickers and crap on my windshield. I am doing what Gordon & Chris are doing and just cutting the corners.

Remember to take the route through the Hood on Saturday and stop at the circle like we did last year to place the sticker on the windshield.

Pffft.

I just peeled off last year's sticker a couple weeks ago.

I noticed the car had been parked in the sun for a few hours, so I grabbed a razor and it came off in one peice. I stuck it on the wall next to my 2011 that also peeled off in one peice.

Stickers on glass are easy.

Yep I think we took a wrong turn last yr and ended up on that street. I'll see if I can find it again

The state of the USA...everyone wants to cut corners...:P

Does the sticker HAVE to be on the outside? I was just gonna tape mine up on the inside, like I do with my UNC-A parking permit stickers...

Plus, it looks like I'll be driving in rain all day Friday, so if it HAS to go on the outside, I'll wait until I get to the hotel before I mess with it...

Exit 47 off of 81 make left on to Hanover Street. One block make left at Nobel Blvd. (Cracker Barrel), make right on S. West Street, follow until K Street. Stop at traffic circle put decal on windshield continue to stop light. Cross intersection and enter gate to showfield.

The sticker holds up great to rain and the elements. Mine has been on there since last year 2012 when I swapped it out for the 2013 sticker. It still looked fine. It'll ride through the rain tomorrow and look just like yours when you put it on at the hotel..... if you didn't lose it or forget it. :rolleyes:

Stickers MUST be on the outside of the window for visibility and readability by the event staff. If you make them work to see it. They will make you work to get in.

Placement: Driver's Side windshield, 1" from the top and 1" from the A Pillar. They will be measuring this before allowing you through the Gate. ;)

Well, it's dark now and I'm sure it'll be raining when I get up to hit the road. I put it in my center console along with my letter...that's where everything loose ends up anyways...lol. I just went and checked to make sure it was in there, and it was. I'll check again as soon as I wake up and again before I put 'er in drive. I'll text you, Charlie, every hour on the hour on the way up that I still have it. :rolleyes: (Last two sentences are dripping with sarcasm, FYI)

Can't wait to see you all again! (Yes, even you, Gordon :P) I feel like leaving right now...

I'll be coming into town on I-81 and it looks like I'll be arriving around rush hour (which is making me think I should leave earlier than I originally planned). Which route is better to get to hotel: Take I-81 north to I-83 and head south to hotel, or take the Harrisburg Expressway (Hwys 11 & 581) to I-83 and head north to hotel?
