Good used parts

Okay so i went to the junk yard to get a new transfer case for my jeep and found a DTR sitting in the back of the place. It was completely gutted. I went and did some scoping out and looked at it. No motor, trans, rear end, wheels, front bc, grill or interior. BUT! It has 1 perfect looking Drivers side tail light, nice passenger mirror, dash cluster, and it has a nice rear bumper cover. The grass was long so i couldnt see the bottom of it but the guy said it had a small tear in it. Ive seen people sell these even with flaws and was looking for some insight/help. Im going back tomorrow and will take some pictures of the parts and post em up so you can help me further. They want $150 for the bumper and thats all i know for now. I will get other prices tomorrow on the other parts. Im just looking for someone to tell me if its worth the money to get it or not. I do not need the bumper for mine is perfect and an SB so i would get it and sell it to someone in need. Any help would be great and if anyone is looking for these parts let me know and i will get them for you. Just dont want to see these good parts go to waste. Thanks Guys.

I would, of course, pay you for any help getting it shipped, if you are willing. It would be cool to get the driving lites too if they are still attached.

Fog lights can be had here on ebay. from this same seller..a bunch of members have bought from this same seller, including myself..They used to be $85.00 for the pair, now $95.00.. I think we bombarded him with about 20 sales in 4 days..lol They are the same as orignal..CIBIE embossed on lens etc.. They are also the same as mazda miata ones..can't remember the years..2000-2002?

You need the bumper cover and brackets to hold the fogs..that's the hard part

Thanks man! I have some friends that work at a Mazda dealership in town FWIW. I wonder what kind of deals they could get me? The bumper covers are tricky. I am finding that I could just go all out and pay all the $$ and end my search by just paying eBay $$. Or, hold out and see if I could save a few $$ and wait.... :popcorn:

It has 2 tears in it both right above the cutouts for the pipes and some scrapes. Also I found 2 headlights in the trunk both good for $65 a piece, steering wheel with no bag for $50 and drivers taillight for $90. Are these good prices? Also the parts I listed in the start which I now have are open for grabs. Please pm me and we can talk money. Thanks guys, hope these parts help someone in need.

You need to learn to negotiate when buying all of these parts from the same place. The prices are good but if you are buying them all you should be able to talk them down...also, if you are going to resell them here you may not want to disclose what you pay...Not saying that you are looking to make a fortune or anything but your time and effort is worth something to the guy who sits here and places his or her order! :beer: Thanks for posting and keeping the parts in the family!:beer:

Waiting on the pics...even if it isn't re-usable, I want to see how difficult it is to take it apart and remove the green film. If I mess up, no biggie...

Okay so these are the pictures of the parts still on the car. I pick the ones i purchased up tomorrow and might get the rest of them. I mainly just want to know if the bumper cover is still worth it. I will try my best to point out the flaws so you can get a better idea.


So if you look at the second picture of the bumper cover you can clearly see the tear in the plastic right above the exhaust cut outs. The first picture is where you can see some minor scratches on the top of the bumper (the white marks, probably can be rubbed out), and heres the tricky one, the last picture you can see the scrapes and gouges in the back of it but if you look closely to the bottom left of the picture you can see there is another crack. To see it look for the three white dots lined up top to bottom and that is the crack. So even after these pictures is the bumper still worth getting? Would anyone like to have this?

Trevor, is it a u-pull yard or for $150 (rear bumper cover) are they going to pull it for you? I am just wondering to see if they would be careful in pulling the cover off or make it worse in the process. I couldn't really see the other crack. It looks fixable? Has anyone claimed it yet?

No they pull all the parts and that is the only reason im kinda holding back. Im afraid they are gonna go pull it off and break the clips and make it worse. It is definitely fixable btw.
