I saw one of these today... and I want one. Badly:coolman:

Here is the website that describes it

http://www.avic-n1.com/

This looks a lot like the unit Mac and Logan have, but it comes standard with navigation (which it retains in memory after you read the DVD). It, of course, plays DVD's, MP3's (it recognises PC file structure and folders), and has the abillity to monitor and display 7 different vehicle performance areas (g forces, voltage, speed, etc) that are user definable. You can hook up a rear looking camera. It will operate a Pioneer CD changer, or an MP3 keg. You can, of course, use the controls on the steering wheel with an adapter. And it is satellite radio ready.

Tweeter has it in their most recent flyer, and their price is $1999 (msrp is $2000, so the discount is overwhelming:censor: )

I like the voice recognition unit, which besides the navigation unit, also operates the audio and video controls.

This unit supports the Pioneer 50 CD changer, and has an auxiliary input for a DVD changer, or other device. You could have both a CD changer and a MP3 keg, or whatever. Boggles the mind, actually.

BTW, Tweeter is offering a free Sirius satellite radio tuner. If you want them to put it in, there's a charge for installation and you have to pay for an antenna, whether they put it in or not. You pay for a year's Sirius subscription, then get 3 months free after the year. www.tweeter.com (http://www.tweeter.com/)

Hey, i actually just traded up for this unit. I used to have the pioneer 6500 dvd player, but tweeters let me upgrade to the avic-n1. I just had to pay the difference. The unit is totally awesome!!!! It has the g-force meter, to see how many g's your pulling, and also has dead reckoning for the gps. So if your in a tunnel or area where gps signal gets lost, it still knows where your going and how fast. Its done with the vehicles speed sense wire.
Plus, i can run the nav and play a cd because it loads the map into the memory of the unit. Totally cool design, plus, it actually has a clock that stays on all the time. My 6500 didnt!! I'll post pictures of the unit soon!

I showed this unit to several members at the Motor City Marauders dyno day. The pioneer rep lives nearby, He was kind enough to bring the cd rom for the computer demo of this unit. Installed mine Thursday. MI2QWK4U got excited over the vehilcle dynamics portion.

Tweeters is a great store, I was there a few days ago, and instead of "tweeter's" some of the lights were out and it said "weee":baaa:
