I need to change a leaking oil pan gasket on my 04 Lincoln LS.
I've read the on-line instructions detailing which bolts to tighten first and in what order.
The instructions also recommend torquing the bolts at different levels. (Bolts 1 thru 5 and bolts 6 thru 17 have suggested different levels.)
My question is, have you guys run into the torquing issue when changing oil pan gaskets, and have you torqued them?
Somehow, I just can't see my local Ford dealer mechanic taking the time to torque down oil pan bolts.
