I'd buy a boosted marauder or two for that dough.

Just my .02

It's a used car..It's got 6000 miles on it..It has to have been titled before, Ford probably titled it themself so it can be sold to the general public. Back in my p71 days..I looked at new ones..or light miles before..Either Ford had titled it and used it or was damage in transit which tends to be roof, hood damage during transport such as top car on carrier and low trees etc. Departments refuse them, Ford titles them, fixes it and offers it to the dealer network. I almost bought a p71 with 10 miles on it but was considered used for that reason. Roof was damaged, Ford titled it, fixed and a dealer had it. The warranty however started when Ford titled it, so the warranty period was already 9 months old.

I like the new Taurus's, but IMO they don't look as good decked out as a PI and the Panthers did and still do. I'd buy a P71, wouldn't buy that...

I kinda like our new county cruisers .... they are gradually replacing the P71 as they get to retirement age.

Or the one that FORD brought to Carlisle in 2012 ...

Those look good, but I can't warm to the one in white with the cop rims. The Panthers looked tough, but the Taurus's are lacking something I can't put my finger on. I'd buy a new red Taurus if I wanted another car payment...

Got pulled by a new charger the other day...now that is an intimidating looking cop car.

I completely agree. The Mopar's look tough. Ready to throw down in a bar fight kinda tough... I think Ford missed its calling with making the Tauri look aggressive rather than like a Camry. I really want one because of the "specs" but so far the looks just make me want to vomit.

I think the word you are looking for is "authority". The Panthers were readily identifiable and distinctive. The Taurus tends to blend in with all the other traffic. From a police perspective, that might not be such a bad thing especially in an unmarked or "slick top" configuration. Uh Oh ... Gotcha !!!

See the curb wt. on that thing.

Curb weight: 4,295 lbs.

Weighs as much as a Marauder!

My SHO weighs about 125 pounds MORE than the Marauder.

Wow - I would not have guessed that.
Is that w/all wheel drive?

This car is nice. With awd I'm sure the 3.5 can't move it as fast as I would like. But I dig it if only my marauder was done I would buy this Taurus. It's better then a run of the mill Taurus with the intercepter package.

Yes!!! Even in an ugly color the Panthers in plain Jane form with steelies looked good. Not even the old Caprices looked as good in that form. IMO...Even now people don't want to pass me because of the fear. And that's with Marauder SS inserts in the bumper. "Respest ma athorti":D

I'll take this:

My Oxford White ST is the best Ford has produced in a while.
Yes, it;s wrong wheel drive but we know that era is over.
I'm looking forward to putting my ST on the track in a couple weeks.

Gas mileage is no better than our Big dinosaur V8's. ;)

I would consider one for a DD if it was the NA 3.7, or maybe the 3.5 EcoBoost. It would be durable & should put up with the indignities of DD well.

But as long as parts are readily available, and maintenance is inexpensive - I will stick with my Vic.
