Supercharger will look like Trilogy, but the engine is a 4 cam 4 valve Jag engine not our Ford engine. In a backward twist, the 02-06 thunderbirds have the 4.0 Jag engine, but without the S/C. So your challenge is to use your S/C Jag sedan engine & trans in a Thunderbird. Let us know how it comes out! And go get Lidio to tune it.

I would really like to put on a smaller pulley and a tune drive it for a bit until I get my 5k asking price or don't play with it so my profit would be greater for mm funds:D. Hmm would be fun to here some whining action from a cat

This is true, but the fact Remains that the XJ has 400 hp at the rear wheels and is governed to 154 on top end ,runs mid to hi 13's :burnout:

Wow! That looks very nice ! You gotta great deal, it sounds like.
And that color is cool ! http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

Am wondering - is it as roomy inside as the MM ?
How does the leather compare?
And with 400 hp - it is prolly pretty peppy !
How does the handling compare?

Thanks for the info !
Nice Ride ! :)

Not as bad as I thought main thing is the secondary timing chain tensioners are plastic. metal ones are $300. Abs modules go bad alot there easy to remove and can be sent to be rebuilt for $45. Everything else is electrical exterior light windows etc. I just got a window switch off eBay for $50 but a break switch new is $130!!

Actually 98 to 00 was 370hp 03 390. Interior is smaller. And IMO handling is better

Dang I always wanted one of these cats. Great looking good power. But the one thing holding me back is the price of parts. They rape you on the smallest parts.

But it's a very nice car. Good luck with it.

Very nice. I was looking at that as a daily driver as well. If you are willing to work on it yourself they can be affordable. The interior was just a little to tight with the sunroof for someone as tall as I am so I went with the TC.

The engine is a 4.0L supercharged V8 has 370hp & 387tq. The transmission is a Mercedes-Benz 5G-Tronic W5A580.

Same motor used in the newer body Tbird and Lincoln LS minus the s/c.
