I think they have a great bbq--the meat falls off the ribs and the sauce is very tasty. The quality of their beef is excellent (I like them better than getting my "Butt Rubbin') :D Eat there every Sunday. Just my individual taste--good place to hold a Marauder GTG ;) Wherever you go, enjoy, Maury

Kind of depends on what part of "Dallas" that he's in.

Mac's is great food in Deep Elleum, only open for lunch.
Baker's Ribs has good pork ribs.
Lockhart's Smokehouse in Oak Cliff is great.
Pappa's Barbecue I have heard is good, but never been.

If your buddy is looking for good Tex-Mex, he needs to go to Mama Herrara's.

The absolute best BBQ in Dallas is the Pecan Lodge booth at the Farmers Market (but you have to wait in line). They havethe best brisket I have ever tasted (and has been on Diners/DriveIns/Dives). There is a also local chain called "Baker's Ribs" that I would recommend as well, they have 4 or 5 locations.

Don't know about Dallas, didn't go there much, but lived in west Fort Worth (Benbrook) for about 10 years and the best I ever had was, Off the Bone BBQ in Forest Hill (on the southeast side of Fort Worth and not connected to the restaurant with the same name in Dallas)
