So on the way home from a 4th party my headlights cut out. I noticed it did this earlier in the day when it was raining really bad and I was trying to get them to come on while I was behind a black car and I couldn't see my lights coming on in the reflection. Well I searched here and found solutions but I'm either not confident enough to learn to solder in order to replace the relay or too lazy to be without my lights while I send my LCM to fastblackmerc. I searched Amazon and bought the Dorman bypass module and installed it today. That thing was a pain to get the connectors into and then connect it to the LCM. However once I did this everything worked just fine except the factory security system doesn't make a noise anymore when I activate it and the red light is on all the time when the car is not started. I'm not sure if that is normal or not so forgive me on that but it doesn't make a any noise when I arm it.
In the first picture I found that wire and I have no clue what the white tube is for. It looks like it is taped to a faster that is mounted to the LCM. The Bypass module is huge, clumsy and very poorly design in my opinion. The connectors and ports are all on one side so the connectors coming from the car have to curly around the module which means if I touch it a little they come loose and the malfunction ringing starts. Overall it is a subpar emergency fix until I can get her home tonight and pull everything out so I can send the LCM to have it repaired.
