I was trying to figure out how to change up the look on the car since I got it earlier this year.

This is what I started with this:

Here she is now, tinted, slammed and on 20s. I am sure there are some MOpar purists getting angry, but I like the look.

When I was younger I hated these cars. Then one day I had an epihany and realized I love these cars. To this day I don't know why I hated them...It looked sweet the way it was. Now...well all I can say is...:drool::drool::dro ol:

Not too big a fan when the older cars are made to look, shall we say, 4x4ish. But this is a perfect setup. I'll have to show my Dad these pics. These size tires n rims is what I BEGGED him to do to his 68 Cougar. But he said he didn't want it to look like snizzle. So I bought him what he wanted 14" Cragars. Now that he's actually seeing some of the older cars set up like yours he says maybe. How can you not like the looks. They make a muscle car look even more muscley...yes, that's a word...Got pics of the inside???

60's Mopars are what I really like....I like the Road Runner with the larger wheels, the stockers always were too small, but that was the sixties for you. I'm sure it drives much better , handles and stops better , pretty much does everything much better than the skinnies. I would imagine that you kept the original wheels in which case the new wheels gets two thumbs up from me.

I like it. Big wheels and skinny rubber can often overpower the look but with your car I think there is a nice balance. Job well done.

Needs some Lakewoods for full effect.;)

Car looks very sharp, congrats! A Mopar purist would probably pay a few bucks for those Magnums.
Don't know how much you paid for it, but those cars in that condition are getting $$$. Even "low-end", 383 cars  ---> :D
Good luck with it. If you want to trade it for an '03 Marauder......

I like it !!! The tinted wheels with the polished rims really sets off the color of the car. The original color was called "Buffed Silver". In high school, a friend had an "Electric Blue" one. He left a 50' patch of rubber in front of the house once at the end of my senior year that upset my mother to no end. ;) I loved the look of the RRs ... but the interior was pretty bare even down to the thin rubber floor mats and vinyl bench seats.

Big Motor, Lightweight, Low Cost, No Frills.

Plymouth sold 45,000 of them in 1968 (twice the projection). Most were equipped with the 383 cid (335 HP, 425 TQ). Only 840 Hemi 426 cid were made in '68 (425 HP, 490 TQ) .... 13.5 @ 105 MPH. The 440 cid was added in mid-year in 1969.

Here's a video with some facts and stats on the 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner >>>> http://www.powerblocktv.com/ymm/YMPLROA68A/1968-plymouth-road-runner

A Beep Beep! horn goes well with everything!

The Year One horns are not always the greatest. Have you tried it on a battery?

By the way, I am not bashing, just speaking from first hand experience.

What are the chances you know a good mechanic in NJ?? I'd trust your recommendation based solely on how I know you from this site.
