Got my vanity plate!

So I got the call that my vanity plate was in on my way to pick up the Marauder from the muffler shop. I told the lady on the phone that I was out of county until Friday and that I'll pick them up that day. On the way home a cop car slides behind me and pulls me over. Before I can even open my owners manual to get my registration the cops were yelling at me to stop and get the :censor: out of the car. I get out with my hands up (they hand weapons drawn) and I thought for sure I was going to be busted for DWM (driving while Mexican). Turns out the kind lady on the phone forgot to tell me they invalidated my license plate. One of the cops started asking me all sorts of questions about the car and I got off with a warning. Next day I drove back home to get my new plate!

Operating Procedure has changed since I was licensed. I have yet to see a PSA or as part of driver training the procedure when pulled over.:confused:

Massachusetts has some of the most retarded DMV laws, second only to California, and at least here they won't invalidate a plate until it's either physically turned in or you put in a claim for lost/stolen.

After driving by $4.15/gal for regular(!) in CT today, I most certainly am!

From what the lady at tax collector's office told me, the second they informed me my plate came in they invalidated the old one. We do have some stupid laws. It is technically illegal to alter your exhaust to sound louder than it was from the factory. Luckily cops tend to leave beastly V8s alone and go after the tuner cars.
