If you had to guess (after almost 10 years), how many Marauders are left? :hmmm:

It was Bluerauder that generated an attrition model a while back, but I have a copy of it. These are reasonable estimates.

Where did the distribution map come from?

Charlie developed this a couple years ago. I got it as .jpg file, so not certain what algorithims were used to generate it.

I think Virginia has the highest number of blue Marauders than any other state.

There are more members on MM than MM's left? Haven't analyzed the math, but I find that difficult to believe. If you could analyze what percent of MM members HAVE marauders, and what percent of marauder members would be on MM, then you could approach the number from a different direction.
If the curve was extrapolated from normal auto model attrition, I don't think it's accurate as most people who buy limited production vehicles know what they have and take care of them.

Search MM.net for Copart.
It's depressing.

I'm not sure most knew they would turn out to be so limited. at least for several years. I was blissfully unaware myself until 2008 when I joined the site...then realized I should have a DD! (other than my rare Marauder);) But yes, if people know, they might be better custodians of their car. I certainly have tried to be.

That was one of my reasons for posting the question. It seems like there is always at least two, three or even more on CoPart at any given time. :depress:
So, in my quest for bumpers, I was planning on waiting a bit longer to purchase them. But, everyday, more and more are headed to the junkyard (or to a crown vic or GM)....:shake:
Therefore, I have stepped up my search! Front's on the way and still looking for a rear....

My guess would be 50-60% of total after 10 yrs and in another 5 yrs the total dropping another 2000 units. There are still a lot of daily drivers out there !! One day everyone still rolling along will be on this Site,,,For an accurate Guesstimate !

There are a lot of reasons for that
1-Not ever one who joins has a marauder.
2-Some people join and never post.
3-Members check the site out and just lurk behind the walls.
4-When a member leaves the computer never uses that number again.
5-I know that there are more examples just can't think of 'em.
Last member to join is # 17627, first was March 2002.

......over 9,000......
LOL, added to the estimated number, that's more than the number of Marauders built!:P I guess that includes the extra parts that were made by Ford and put on Crown Vics!

Honestly guys, although it may not appear to be so on the open road, I'd speculate less than 10% of all Marauders are no longer on the road.
Two in 30 are out of service would be my hunch.

I think that number is far too low.....
These cars were fairly expensive and not driven by folks who buy cookie cutter transportation......
Ten years is not that long....
Ten years from now, absolutely.....
The prices will be coming back up as the numbers dwindle.....

Two in 30 would be about 6.7 %, so using that and 10 % would give you a spread of between 10,312 - 9947, or over 10,000 would still be in service out of the original 11,052, give or take a couple hundred.
You may be right, but after 11 or 12 years that seems high IMO. I don't know what the graph is based on, but it agrees with the seat of my pants pretty well.

Around here, many many of them went out on leases to thugs who prowled around beating the wee-wee out of them 24/7. After five years it was hard to find one with less than 100k on the clock, and didn't look like double that.

There are quite a few of them around here, some are daily drivers, including older people who were just buying a flashy grand marquis. there is a blue roaming around branson with a Q-tip (old lady) driving it around 30 mph on the freeway... two silvers, a red, a blue and at least a dozen blacks. I am surprised how many there are here locally.
and as to members, my son joined when he was still a kid so he could see what people he met at Marauderville were up to, so not everyone is an owner.

I'm being read wrong. What I am stating is there is less than a ten percent loss (in other words, 90%++ of all Marauders minted are still alive and doing well.
I'd be nuts to think there has been a 90+% attrition rate.

I'm surprised too, one county north of you, seen 2 silver, two reds, one with Nevada plates, and four other blacks plus mine. Haven't seen a blue. Good talking to you down at Campbells, you still working down there in Nixa? What's up with the NAPA store?

Marauders were the status car of choice for thugs around here - before the Chrysler 300 took over - and they beat the snot out of those cars.
My car still turns a hundred times more heads down in the hood than out in the burbs.
